Scott was hired as the Women's Tennis Coach and Kinesiology Instructor in August 2000. In 2008, Scott began coaching the Men's college team. Scott also instructs classes in Weight Training, Cardio-Fitness, Yoga, Badminton, and Tennis for the Kinesiology department. He has a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a M.A. degree in Kinesiology from San Jose State with an emphasis in Sport Psychology.
Scott has taught tennis for 34 years, and coached for twenty eight years at the community college level. His teams have been ranked in the final state rankings in 1989, 1992, 1993, 1996, 2002, 2010. Scott was voted Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 1997, 2002, 2006, and 2010, 2011. Scott's playing experience includes: Community College Conference Champion 1980 & 1981, Napa Community College; NCAA All-American 1984, UC Santa Cruz; Ranked in the USTA Men's Open from 1985 – 1990, Played International Satellite Circuits, Europe and US, 1989 -1990. Recently, Scott was honored by Napa Community College by inducting him into their Hall of Fame's Inaugural class, in 2011.
